World Water Day

This event focused on “the place of water in our societies and how to protect it.”

FADPE held discussions with 560 students and 12 teachers about the importance of clean water and the health risks of contamination. Participants learned how pollution and volcanic activity in Nyiragongo and Nyamulagira affect local water sources, and why protecting what little water is available is so urgent.

The children shared their daily struggles to access safe drinking water, as most families still rely on collected rainwater. They expressed hope for future projects that could help bring clean water closer to their communities.
